Ordering repeat prescriptions

We are sorry that we cannot accept repeat prescription requests on the telephone.  These are the ways in which you can order your repeat medication:

  • You can send your request by post (please mark the envelope “Dispensary”)
  • You can post your request through the dispensary letter box (situated to the right hand side of the main surgery entrance)
  • You can order your repeat medication online via SystmOne Access or the NHS app. You will need to register for this service.

If you need help of any other kind you should telephone 01929 462376, choose option 5 between the following times:

Weekdays 9.00am – 10.30am and 2.30pm – 3.30pm.

Emergency medication

If medication is needed urgently, patients should contact the dispensary by telephone at the times listed above (01929 462376) or in person. If the items needed are on the patients repeat medication list the medication will be dispensed or a signed prescription issued. If the item is not a repeat item authorisation to dispense will need to be obtained from the duty doctor.

If you need to obtain medication urgently when the surgery is closed please contact the out of hours Urgent Care Service on 111.

Requests for the contraceptive pill or patches

This is the process for patients to make a REPEAT request for their contraceptive pill or patches they have previously been prescribed.

When you are starting your final packet from your previously issued prescription, please fully complete our contraceptive request form (you can download the form here – Contraceptive request form

  • you will need to enter your blood pressure which you can monitor yourself – you will need 2 readings at least 5 minutes apart
  • a blood pressure reading will need to have been recorded within the last 12 months otherwise your prescription will not be issued
  • you should either use a home BP machine, or if you do not have access to one you can call into the surgery during our opening hours to use our blood pressure monitor at the surgery, you do not need an appointment, but please arrive at least 15 minutes before the surgery is due to close at lunchtime or the end of the day
  • if you do not complete every question on the form it will lead to delays as you may be called back to provide information that is missing from the form

You will be asked on the form to confirm how many pills you have left. We recommend making the request when you start your final pack from your previous prescription, we cannot guarantee a quick turnaround

Once completed please email the pill request form back to wellbridge.practice@nhs.net or hand the completed form back to reception.

Requests for HRT pill, patches and topical applications

Patients who wish to make a REPEAT request for HRT they have previously been prescribed in tablet, patch or topical (for arm/torso) form need to use the following process/form every 6-12 months please.

(If you are using a topical HRT which is being applied intra-vaginally like a gel or pessary, you do NOT need to use this form as it is considered very low risk. These include things like Vagifem which can be taken long term, by many, with little to no risk. You should find this type of HRT on your repeat template list and you can request it as you would other repeat medication. If it doesn’t appear on your repeat list please let dispensary know.)

When you are nearing the end of your supply from your previously issued prescription – please allow a couple of weeks (ideally a month) to allow the prescription to be prepared, please fully complete our HRT request form (you can download the form here – HRT request form for tablets, patches and topical (arm/torso)

Please note that prior to submitting the request we require you to please read the information in this Government information sheet regarding the risks associated with taking HRT.
