Carers

A carer is a person of any age who provides or intends to provide on-going, unpaid support to a partner, child, relative or friend. Without this help the health and wellbeing of the cared for person could deteriorate due to frailty, disability, a serious health condition, mental ill health or substance misuse.

Are you a carer?

If you are a carer, please let us know, leave your name and contact details plus the name of the person you care for (if you have their consent to give us their details) with one of our receptionists. Please also ask for a carer’s pack which is full of information to help support you.

There is a carers notice board in the waiting room with useful information. We list any events near us on the notice board.

We recommend that all carers register with Carer Support Dorset to ensure you are kept up to date with all the support and assistance you may need.
