Appointments

Routine appointments

We are able to offer a limited number of appointments which are available to book up to ten days in advance. Most of our doctors work part time and you may not always be able to see your doctor of choice. Often a nurse or other healthcare professional may be able to help you. Please ask the receptionist for advice.

Patients can now book appointments, subject to availability, online, please see the online services page for more information including how to register and access the system.

Again our reception team will ask for a reason for the appointment.  This is under instruction from the Doctors to allow them to triage their appointment lists in advance to ensure those who need to be assessed urgently are done so.

Same Day Appointments

Each morning, there are a number of appointments available for patients who wish to call the surgery from 8.30am to book an appointment with a GP.

The number of patients we can see in this surgery will be capped each day depending on the number of doctors available.

These appointments will be available for routine or urgent problems.

Our reception team will ask for a reason for the appointment.  This is under instruction from the Doctors to allow them to triage their appointment lists in advance to ensure those who need to be assessed urgently are done so.

Cancelling your appointment

If you have an appointment and cannot attend or wish to cancel, please contact the surgery or use our online form by clicking below.

Consult with a Doctor online

You can now start an online consultation with a GP at the surgery, you may not need a face to face appointment, click the image below to start an online consultation.

Econsultphoto

Due to extremely high demand for this service, any submissions received at the moment, may take up to a week for a response, not the advertised 2 day turnaround. You also may not be able to submit an eConsult if we have reached our maximum capacity for this service.

Please do not submit an eConsult for an urgent matter or use this to request an appointment.

Please be aware that an eConsult will normally result in a response via email, therefore please do not request or expect a telephone call. If you need to speak to a doctor, please call the surgery on 01929 462376 to request a same day or routine appointment.

Extended Access

We have a limited number of early morning and later evening appointments available. These are primarily for patients who find it difficult to make an appointment within our normal surgery times due to work commitments etc.

We offer extended surgery times on some evenings between 6.30 and 7.00pm and on Tuesday and Friday mornings between 7.00 and 8.00am.

These appointments are designed to help patients who work access services at convenient times. Please note other surgery facilities are closed during these times.

Home Visits

Several patients can be seen at the surgery in the time that it takes to do one home visit. Home visits are only available for people unable for medical reasons to attend the surgery.

How To Request A Home Visit

Please telephone 01929 463444 before 10.30am if a visit is required that day. We only accept emergency calls after that time. Please give as much information as possible to enable the doctor to allocate priority to house calls.  Our reception staff never refuse requests for home visits but always will ask you for details to help the doctors plan their rounds and to enable a doctor to contact you by telephone if appropriate. It is not possible to guarantee which doctor will visit you.

Even in rural areas, home visits are not available to assist with problems of transport to the surgery, except at the discretion of the doctor concerned. If you phone by 10.30 a.m. we will do our best, so long as we have time available.

Emergency Visits

Phone Bindon Abbey (01929) 463444 at any time. If the problem is an emergency, needing a doctor straight away, please make this completely clear. In some circumstances (collapse, unconsciousness, severe bleeding) you should phone the Ambulance Service first (999).
