Healthcare Team

Community Midwives

Community Midwives are responsible for antenatal and early postnatal care. They Organise parentcraft classes and home visits and have a weekly antenatal clinic where they work in close co-operation with the doctors and the local maternity units.

Community Nurses

The team consists of a sister, staff nurses and health care assistants. They offer a high quality professional and confidential home nursing service to housebound patients who are sick, frail or elderly and to the terminally ill. Community nurses may also visit patients who have been discharged from hospital if the hospital advises this is necessary. They give help and advice to patients and carers through periods of illness on how to obtain assistance from other agencies e.g. Social Services and organisations offering support in the home. Health Visitors

The Health Visitors are concerned with the health of the whole community, but especially the under 5's. The Health Visiting Team visit new babies and their mothers after the first week of life.. The team's aim is to promote health and early detection of ill health. They visit families regularly to discuss health and care of mothers and their children. A child health clinic runs every third Thursday of the month between 2-3pm at Wool surgery. Just drop in.

Podiatry/Chiropody

This service is operated by Dorset HealthCare Trust and clinics are held at Wareham Hospital. Appointments are by referral by a Doctor or Nurse. Appointments are managed by Dorset HealthCare Trust from a central hub and any queries should be directed to telephone number:0300 303 8630

Training Practice

The Wellbridge Practice is a training practice and hosts student Doctors and Nurses. At times a student may be present during your consultation.

GP net earnings

All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings (e.g. average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice.

The average pay for GPs working in WELLBRIDGE PRACTICE in 2024/25 financial year was £88,041 before tax and National Insurance. This is for 1 full time GP and 4 part time GPs who worked in the practice for more than six months.
