29 hours per week.

We have a vacancy for a dispenser in our busy GP surgery to work a minimum of 29 hours per week. You must be flexible to cover sickness and annual leave as necessary. The successful candidate must be able to work well within a team environment and enjoy working with the general public. The role involves participation in the whole dispensing process. Previous experience with a dispensing qualification would be an advantage although full training, leading to a recognised qualification, would be given to the right applicant. Good communication skills are essential and you should have achieved a good level of education. Salary


 As a Dispenser your duties will include but will not be limited to;

  • Taking in and handing out prescriptions
  • Labelling and dispensing prescriptions using dispensary computer system and in accordance with standard operating procedures to ensure safe supply to patients in an efficient and accurate manner.
  • Dispensing controlled drugs and making necessary entries in the CD register in accordance with standard operating procedures and complying with relevant legal controls.

Practice Management

Jan Burt is our practice manager. She is responsible for the administration of the practice and would be happy to hear any suggestions about how we could improve the non-medical parts of our service.

Practice Administrator Keeley Bruce is our Practice Administrator. Keeley assists the practice manager in the day to day running of the surgery.

Secretaries We have three secretaries;Yvonne Boyall,Jackie Pope and our senior secretary Caroline Loveless. They are responsible for all of the doctor’s correspondence. If you need to contact the secretaries please phone the surgery before 2.30pm.

Receptionists We have seven receptionists; Jackie Pope, Kate Chambers, Sally Clarke,  Kim Hennessy, Sharon Swales, Marie Delves and Kirsty Bugler is our senior receptionist. They are here to help you in any way they can, whether by making appointments to see the doctors or advising on administrative problems. If they cannot answer a query they will undertake to find someone else who can. If you prefer to speak to a receptionist in private please ask.

Dispensers We have four dispensers Angela Robins, Michelle Osmond, Stacey Wesley and our senior dispenser Naomi Loveless. They prepare repeat prescriptions and dispense medicines to dispensing patients.
